Blair Booth
Blair Booth has had a highly eclectic and decorated career that spans three decades and includes 10 albums and 8 hit singles. As a teenager, she sang in the notorious gambling belt casinos and clubs of her native Nevada, before moving to the UK in 1981 and becoming rooted to the British music scene. In addition to working a session vocalist and model, she collaborated with a diverse range of high-profile people throughout the mid-80s, including Pascal Gabriel, Steve Levine and Johnny Thunders. From the late 80s to the early 90s, Blair formed partnerships with some of the most highly revered figures in the British music industry. As 'Terry, Blair & Anouchka', she co-wrote and arranged the album 'Ultra Modern Nursery Rhymes' with ex-Specials singer Terry Hall for Chrysalis Records, collaborated on two albums for Circa with the late Billy MacKenzie of The Associates, as well as signing to Sony with Nick Heyward of Haircut 100 fame and dueted with the of Marc Almond. Excited by the hip-hop movement of the early 90s, Blair broke away to form her own trio called 'Oui 3', which were signed to MCA Records in 1992. Oui 3 went on to have several hits, including 'Break from the Old Routine' and their anthemic adaptation of Buffalo Springfield's 'For What it's Worth', as well as produce the acclaimed album 'Oui Love You'. Blair successfully toured the UK and Europe over the following years with Oui 3, including numerous dates with Jamiroquai, UB40 and Ice-T's Bodycount. Following the end of the band, Blair established her own studio and has continued to write and record for a number of artists ever since, including Future Funk Squad, Najma Akthar and Ghosts. As a respected writer for media, Blair has seen her music used widely for television and film and continues to work closely with a range of collaborators that include ex-Robert Plant guitarist Doug Boyle.
